Wayne William, a solo-artist from Malta, has conditioned his passion for music since he was young and his latest album The Parade is an accomplishment of finding his true musical style. The music William’s brings us can be described as pop R&B with an infusion of soul. William’s voice is one with an air of drama and carries a tone of elegance and romance. “Don’t Fade Away” is a true ballad of love and the song is just dripping with romance and passion at each and every beat, yet when you look deep within the lyrics there’s more to the story. The lyrics expose the truth of a depressed society and the everyday triumph to overcome it; “Mama save me, I can’t take another day… it feels like they just don’t listen… bullets start flying so we try to see it clearer.” While being very contemporary, there is an air of classical soul to the track thanks to the piano and style of percussion. The song may describe a bleak reality but there is just so much love within the environment of the song that all of the negativity is pushed to the side letting the people rejoice in “singing.” Another song just dripping with passion is “Time.” It describes a relationship that is burgeoned by long distances between each other yet there seems to be an incredibly strong connection between the two, perhaps it’s a thing called love. “You’ll get by and you’ll see that I’m never letting go… soon it will be just me and you.” The revolving theme on this track is distance and time, and how the two can really have a disheartening effect on lovers, yet at the same these obstacles give one another hope and truly show how much they care for each other; “Time it just don’t fly… a thousand miles away, know that I am always with you.” Wayne William is quite the sweet-talker but he’s harping about the realities of love, the hardships of life and overcoming them with positivity and love for each other. The Parade tells stories of truth through graceful and soul-filled songs that many can enjoy. This is a high-quality album and Wayne William has definitely found his true sound in The Parade.
