The members of Vendorbelly have been pushing out a noisy, fuzz-based sound together for two years now but it wasn’t until the year 2012 that Vendorbelly came into its own. Playing a whole slew of shows across London and the surrounding areas with trailblazer bands such as Bloodshed culminated in their first festival appearance at Danson Park's annual Danson Festival, Bexleyheath. In that time they managed to put together a very solid four song EP entitled Waving Lines which contains driving, distorted bass, cascading guitars and heavy drums. Throw in a dash of shoegaze and you have a pretty unique recipe. Fans of bands like Queens of the Stone Age should be fans of this group.

The album kicks off with the heavy “Butter And The Bread” which could possibly create a 90’s inspired mosh pit if the conditions were right. The last minute or so really thrashes and kicks into gear as the band hits their peak of playing off of each other’s strengths. “Goldar” contains some unique guitar work that follows the vocals at certain points while the rhythm section creates a solid backbone. The album closes with “Keiko’s Last Smile” which is probably the poppiest and least heavy song on the album. It’s a good song however but just quite a departure from the others. Waving Lines is a solid effort that combines heavy rock with pop sensibilities that will have fans of the 90’s alternative scene excited.
