The Sonic Company is a super-mellow collective out of Udine, Italy. I would describe their music as supple Mediterranean jazz with a bit of funk in the mix. The music on Far From Home is very relaxing and is perfect for both unwinding and uplifting the spirit. There is a flurry of instruments and effects used on this album that make it quite surprising and never dull to listen to. Each track has a vibration of its own. The song titled “Secret Path” really does emulate the journey of travelling down a secret and unexplored path perhaps through a jungle or misty forest of some kind. There is good percussion in this track and it’s accentuated by a mystical vibration that just seems to lurk in the background of the song. A nice soft tinging sound helps the song progress as if it truly were a journey down a disclosed path. “You Talk” opens up with unique vocal samples and this song definitely has some funk vibes. There are also some vocals of a female harmonizing with an electronic saxophone-like sound. The song has some epic undertones and sounds almost like a song of victory and triumph. The vocal samples “unbelievable strong” and its repetition create an environment of indestructible motivation and transfers optimism and loads of positivity to the listener. It’s unfortunate that there are such a small amount of tracks on this album because as the album ends, you are intrigued to replay them all over again. The sound has a very soothing effect and is mysterious and has a clarity to it. It seems to help the time just melt away and opens up the gates of one’s consciousness. The recording quality on this album is of high merits. There is time put into the production and recording process; each of the instruments and effects gets their time to shine through the beautifully constructed melodies in Far From Home.
