This six-piece band from South Wales, UK  brings us grunge punk rock music that has soul and depth. The band released their first single in 2011 and received local radio airplay. The band has now released Static Signals, a  five-track album showcasing their talents and variations of sound.

Each song on the album is very anthemic; each has a driving force and the vocals all weave a telling story. “We Want to (See You Again)” is an upbeat track with passionate lyrics about being able to see that special someone again; as the song progresses the vocals climb as does the beat, creating a very dramatic scenario of musical structure. The next song “Act Your Age (and Grow Up)” reminds me of music from bands like Hawthorne Heights, Circus Survive, or even Muse. The song is about being in cahoots with a younging, in this case a girl who is just too immature to hang around; “you thought you'd get away with ease… call the authorities and bring you to your knees.” The chorus of the song is one that an audience can really get into, the lyrics are catchy and they have an echo effect; there is great harmonization between the members of the band. Towards the end, a vocalist starts singing in a freestyle verse before the guitar dives into a sick solo, something akin to Buckethead. This song is definitely a head-banger.

A song with a little more sultry passion is “This Time Next Year.” The song is a bit more slowed down and the tone in which the vocals are sung is dramatically different from their other songs. But don’t get me wrong, this song still has a deep running current; “this time next year, I’ve forgotten your name… I’ll be on my feet again.”

The band has some really great pop-like punk rock with a bit of soul to offer their audiences. There is creativity within the lyrics and passion within each song; they seem to naturally garner your attention with their catchy choruses and intense guitar and drum patterns. The quality of sound recording could be improved slightly as some of the individual instruments get lost in the background, but besides that, Static Signal is album for anyone interested in this genre.
