Popular Culture Shamane  aka Shamane creates experimental music that explores various types of genres (often times in the same song). His latest entitled “I Wished for More Wishbones” creates ambient soundscapes where manipulated vocals hang in the air if only to be washed over a warm pad of synthy-goodness. Other tracks contain complex rhythmic patterns that would have even the best dancers bewildered as to which foot to put forward next.

The first song “E Cavana Es Ay” combines distant  bells, what sounds like bongos, synths and various sounds from the swamplands (I think I even heard a toad). Another song entitled “Eph-Emeril's Schmutz” creates such an interesting contrast in sound. At times I felt like I entering a luminous tunnel that was destined to drop me off into the void. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used this song in some kind of sci-fi movie. Other songs sound like what you might imagine sounds were like if CERN’s Hadron Super Collider were turned on and two sub atomic particles smashed to simulate the big bang. This album may not have people headed for the dance floor but if you are in the mood for abstract, avant-garde compositions that sometimes sound as if they are simulating the universe you may want to spin this one.
