Organic Light has recently released this eleven-track album titled Living Inside The Paradox. The album can be categorized in the ambient music category as it spans many different spectrums of sound through interesting samples and effects. Based off of the title, a listener may interpret the music as commentary on our modern day lives; as the time keeps ticking so does the inert motion of life, which is something the album captures very well and relays solely through vocal-less music.
The music from Organic Light can be compared to that of other artists like Nujabes, Dj Krush and even new emerging artists like XXYXX. Living Inside The Paradox is a solo-project by Joshua Rojas who lives out of Santa Maria, CA. Besides ambient music, the artist is also involved in producing hip-hop music. This somewhat influences the direction of the album as some deep bass tones and somewhat trip-hop like melodies can be heard throughout the album.
The songs on the album are very rich and layered, and even though they are void of words, each has a compelling and dynamic story to tell. These tracks would be perfect for movies as the beats draw unique and stimulating situations. The song “Trigger Effect” starts off kind of mellow but as the song progresses it leads us on a long and arduous journey to a place which is full of mystery, intrigue and perhaps a little bit of danger. A track titled “Living Inside The Protocol” starts off with a stimulating electro vibe before diving deeper into a futuristic landscape that’s just bursting with the hustle and bustle of life.
Over all Living Inside The Paradox is a well-produced collection of mind-inducing tracks that let the listener travel through distinct paths in time and space. The artist really does a great job by bringing both a new sound and a new feeling to every song on the album, some dark and some light. This is great listening music to play in the background to color any space with ethereal adventures.
