One Man Boycott is a one-man band from Europe and he is just at the beginning of his young musical career. Granted the opportunity to sign to the Spectra label after performing at a huge festival in Germany, One Man Boycott has been able to grow his sound and style, and release this five-track EP I’ll love you for the rest of our days for listeners worldwide. The first track on the album, “Fingers Crossed” starts off with an electric candy-pop melody that is interestingly contrasted by a classical-sounding guitar. The song seems to be about the melancholy activities of city living; “I think I’m addicted to these city lights… the different faces burning like fireflies.” Overall the song is very upbeat and has a happy air to it. Towards the end, the lyrics “I wish we were the same as we were yesterday,” repeat and are sung in an anthemic way just before the closing of the track. This track’s sound can be described as punk rock with pop influences. The song that shares the same title as the album is an anthem about bad love and not being able to let go of that special someone that seems to ironically make your life hell. The song is upbeat and somewhat of a release for the artist and the listeners, just as you would expect it to be. “It breaks my heart to say goodbye and I fall apart every time.” Following sequence, the track “As You Wish” is slow burning with some great effects that set an interesting mood. “Would you abandon me too?” shadow another track about love, loss and loneliness. The mixing of vocals, effects and instrumentals is successful on this song; there is even a vocal tidbit that introduces the chorus (“here comes the chorus”) before it drops. The album is of great recording quality and this is a perfect listen for any one into pop rock. Each song is full of emotion and passion and this is played out through hard-hitting guitar riffs, passionate vocals and interesting effects. Together, all of these elements make I’ll love you for the rest of our days an entertaining listen.
