Are you in need of an album that’s going to get you up and running, your blood pumping and allow you to let your hair down and jump around while enjoying catchy lyrics and some cool melodies? If so, the aptly named If You Like To Dance has got you covered. Their Vices EP has all the instruments, the awesome accent in the vocals and the pure radiant energy to get anyone up and out of their seats and moving to the groove.

“Wasting Time” is the perfect proportion of rock, deep bass and pop catchiness and appeal. The sound kind of reminded me of a more rocked out Mumford & Sons. The piano was nice when played with the electric nature of the guitars. “Missing Parts” thrust me into the midst of a late ‘80s to early ‘90s workout video – I fully expected bubbly chicks in neon scrunchies and spandex to appear out of nowhere and start dancing around. 

“Gold & Silver” seemed slightly subdued as compared to the other songs, though still containing the same dance appeal. The chorus is just begging to be laid over a fully techno beat and pulsed through every inch of a sweaty dance floor – it’s so catchy and fun and easy to remember that I know I’ll be singing it randomly in the next few days. “Sleep” is Dance Dance Revolution meets europop disco and happiness. The buildup was fantastic, and the beat is complex with multiple layers and moments of quiet intensity, which made the louder parts of the melody even more exciting.  

This is exactly the album I would put on the play as I got dressed to go out on the town with my friends. It’s just the right kind of feel good music that gets you amped and ready to have a good time. I didn’t sit still at all from the first note to the very end, which means that this is pop doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. I would recommend this to anybody and will not be surprised if this band blows up on the pop/rock scene over here in the United States soon.
