All Who Wander is a collective from South Carolina that produce a sound that’s all their own. They embody an eclectic combination of sound similar to Matisyahu, Slightly Stoopid and G. Love all mixed into one. Most of the sound on their self-titled album All Who Wander has a fresh acoustic vibe that gives the listener a crisp clean listening experience. The four-piece band is comprised of bass, drums, lead guitar and a vocalist who also adds some guitar. The opening track on the album “SunKing/ Push It” is a blending of two separate songs that come together to make a cohesive ballad for love and peace. There is simple percussion, some light guitar riffs and the semi-rap vocals of the lead singer that tie the whole track together and give it meaning. The lyrics, “no question, that the best is always found when you least expect it… you can find a place where words are safe... this is all you’ll have when the path gets dark.” The song seems to describe a metaphoric place of safety from the darkness of life. The metaphor then comes full circle with the catchy chorus “Calling on the SunKing.” The second track “Red” has a southern twang to it and makes you want to kick off your boots and jump around in the grass. The guitar on the track is a bit stronger and has a passion calling out to the listener making them succumb to the deep grooves and vocals that are dripping with malice and bit of mystery. “Some music played behind me… All I heard was silence when I saw the girl in red.” This is definitely a lusty track and it is pure musical seduction. All Who Wander is overall a fun listen that envelops the general feeling of wandering, yet embodies a purposeful meaning and maintains the badass appeal throughout. The style of the vocals that seem to morph on every track alongside the super mellow melodies makes this a perfect album for any kind of wandering or traveling. Throughout the album, the quality is maintained and it is up to par with studio standards. Anyone wandering around looking for music to enjoy will find solace in All Who Wander.
