Often a bands success lies in their abilities to effortlessly blend their instrumental sounds. Hurry Home does this pretty well. The five piece rock band sounds like one cohesive unit. Hurry Home consists of friends Tyler Lautzenheiser (drummer), Kyle Viana (guitar), Scott Lotterman (vocals), Jake Pokora (bass), and Ron Hardy (guitar).

Hurry Home's Selfish Love EP's themes and sounds represents a concentrated effort. The three track album offers one high energy tune, about complicated relationships, after another. Selfish Love showcases consistently spirited and playful tracks. The music  they play fits nice and snug under the genre of hard rock. The guitars are distorted , the drums crash an the bass holds down the low end which brings me to my next point.

The production is exceptional on this EP. They were able to capture the raw energy of the band and only adds to the visceral experience. 

"No Apologies" narrates the ending of a toxic romance. The music comes out of the gate fast with start and stop style guitar action but when the chorus hits there is a full onslaught of sound. "No Apologies" is a great break up song. No sulking just moving forward.

"I'm Tellin' You" creatively shifts perspectives, giving both sides of a dysfunctional relationship. We get the viewpoint of the fed up girlfriend and the confused boyfriend. "I'm Tellin' You" ends by uniting the characters with their decisions to move on from the romance. "Selfish Love" captures the seductive appeal of a sexy, bad choice.  It is also arguably the highlight on the EP

Each track on Selfish Love showcases the anxieties and thrills of romance, love, and lust, something almost everyone experiences once. The relatable lyrics pair charmingly with the energetic, fast beats. Selfish Love is a catchy album with energy that at it best can be somewhat intoxicating. Selfish Love is over before you know it. Promising start - looking forward to more material.
